Deep research and agent-based search is being highlighted as a major advancement in AI-supported information seeking. A range of tools are emerging in this area, such as Gemini Deep Research, ChatGPT Deep Research, Undermind.ai, and SciSpace Deep Review. These tools promise in-depth searches and comprehensive summaries, but how well do they actually work in practice?
